Lincoln County Information

Lincoln County is county-based in the state of Montana. A census established that Lincoln County had a total population of 19,677 in 2020. Libby is the current county seat in Lincoln County.

It was formed in 1909.

It was named for President Abraham Lincoln. He was an American statesman and lawyer who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 to 1865.

Lincoln County records its criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. Lincoln County Public Records

In Montana state, records called vital records are kept on every resident within the jurisdiction. All important life events are recorded in these files. These milestone events consist of deaths, births, divorces, and marriages. These document files are sometimes obtained by individual counties, such as Lincoln County. NOTE - There are various rules that must be followed in order for Lincoln County requesters to obtain records. The office is only open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday. If a requester wishes to obtain reports, they must bring some form of photo identification. This could consist of a driver’s license or state ID. All public record requests must also be put in writing in Lincoln County.
