It was formed in 1912.

It was named after James J. Hill, president of the Great Northern Railway Company, which built the rail line across Montana as part of the Transcontinental Railroad to the Pacific coast.

Hill County Criminal Records

Hill County records their criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. In Hill County and across the whole state of Montana, police officers must keep an up-to-date list of all arrest records. Citizens of Hill County can use a search tool in order to get access to the records in question. Anyone on release or in jail can be searched for using the tool. Hill County keeps a current register of all local sex offenders. These include any offender living, attending school, working, or jailed in the Hill County area. This register is made available to all citizens of Hill County.

Hill County Public Records

Each individual resident in the state of Montana has vital records kept on them. The vital records in question document a person’s most essential life events. These reports can contain anything from births and deaths to marriages and divorces. Counties such as Hill County help to collect these reports. Then again, Hill County does charge per record copy. Hill County birth records cost $12 per first copy. Hill County Death records cost $15 per first copy.

NOTE - If residents want to obtain records face-to-face, they must adhere to a variety of rules in Hill County. Hill County requesters must get hold of records between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday. Those looking to request files must also bring some form of photo identification. State IDs and driver's licenses will do just fine. A requester must also put their public record requests in writing in Hill County.
